Coach Ron Sprague 1960-2008

 

It with great sadness that we remember Ron Sprague.    "Coach Ron", a 9 year coach with Gagewood Lions Baseball, passed away at home August 24, 2008 surrounded by his family after a long battle of cancer. He was born August 13, 1960 in Highland, Park, IL.

He worked as a Farm Stand Manager at Jewel Osco for 30 years. He enjoyed coaching football, softball, and little league for Warren Township for nine years. He graduated from Wheeling High School. He married Shari Hedrick on November 3, 1984.

Ronald will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Shari of 23 years; his children, Sara and Michael; his parents, Kenneth and Marilyn; brother, Michael (Chris); grandmother, Mildred Gieseke; dear mother-in-law, Charolette Hitz; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service at St. Paul the Apostle, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee on Thursday, August 28, 2008, 10 AM. Deacon Mike Penich officiating. Burial Ascension Cemetery. Visitation 4 - 8 PM Wednesday at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Rd., Gurnee and 9 - 10 AM Thursday at St. Paul the Apostle. Arrangements by Marsh Funeral Home, 847-336-0127.

2009 Season:

Our sign ups for the 2009 season will be held in November.    We will post the final date in the fall.
